Apparently, Paul Revere never actually uttered the famous words, “The British are coming!” Yet, in the spirit of that misquote, the college fairs are, indeed, coming to Denver (and probably to your city, if you live elsewhere). Fall is a popular time for college fairs, and below is information about and links to upcoming fairs in the Denver area:
- NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling) College Fair: Sunday, September 25, 1-4 p.m. at the Denver Mart
- Christian College Fair of Colorado:
- Monday, September 26, 6-8 p.m. at Colorado Springs Christian High School
- Tuesday, September 27, 6-8 p.m. at Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch
- Wednesday, September 28, 6-8 p.m. at Resurrection Christian Schools in Loveland
- Thursday, September 29, 6-8 p.m at Faith Christian Academy in Arvada
- College Fairs of Greater Denver:
- Wednesday, September 28, 6-8 p.m. at Monarch High School in Louisville
- Thursday, September 29, 6-8 p.m. at Lakewood High School
- Saturday, October 1, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Mountain Vista High School in Highlands Ranch
- NACAC Performing and Visual Arts College Fair: Sunday, October 30, 1-3 p.m. at Infinity Park Event Center in Glendale
College fairs are a great opportunity for students and parents to gather information about schools and demonstrate interest in them. (Demonstrated interest is a factor in the admissions process at many colleges.) However, many fairs are overwhelming, with 100-200 college representatives participating and hundreds or thousands of people in attendance. For more information about how to get the most out of a college fair, see my article in the Glendale Cherry Creek Chronicle.
